While Rob Deer could never match the blue-collar temperament that Gorman Thomas had that endeared Thomas to Brewers fans, Deer did have that "F*ck it" three-true-outcomes approach at the plate that made him a player that many folks saw as Thomas's moral successor of sorts.
Deer spent just 5 seasons in Milwaukee. In that time, he hit 137 HR -- good enough for 13th on the Brewers all-time list -- walked 333 times (tied for 15th), and struck out an incredible 823 times (7th most in Brewers history) in just 2711 plate appearances (slash line: .229/.329/.450). I have him in my player collections because he was a fun player to watch, gave 100% every game he played, and, despite the strikeouts, with Milwaukee he was always a positive on offense.
