Before Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun came along, Jenkins was second all-time behind Robin Yount in home runs hit with the Brewers. Jenkins played 10 seasons in Milwaukee after being the 9th pick overall in the 1995 June Draft in the first round. Much as the team started moving away from Jenkins as its best field player once Fielder and Braun came up, so too do baseball card issues of Jenkins decline after 2005.
Jenkins spent his final season in Philadelphia as the team looked for a place to hide Ryan Braun's glove in left field.
Perhaps it is more telling of the Brewers in the 1990s than of Jenkins, but he was named to the All-Decades team for the 1990s by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel despite the fact that he played only one full season (and one half season) with the team in the 1990s.
