Chuck Crim. Really? Yup.

Despite spending just 5 years as a Brewer, the team wore out the former 17th Round Draft pick from Hawaii-Manoa by putting him out on the mound for the fourth-most pitching appearances in a Brewers uniform. In the 1980s, the team was more likely to stick with the devils/middle relievers that they knew.

These days, GMs have begun to recognize the fungibility of middle relievers and closers. Unsurprisingly, the closest anyone has come to Crim's appearances since Chuck left in 1991 was John Axford. He left Milwaukee 64 games short of tying Crim. Crim also saved 42 games in a Brewers uniform.

To be fair, those are about the only reasons why I've put Crim into the player collections. And, of course, the fact that I thought he was a good pitcher.
