Rookie of the Year

The only two players to win the Rookie of the Year award as Milwaukee Brewers are Pat Listach, who was the American League Rookie of the Year in 1992, and Ryan Braun, who was the National League Rookie of the Year in 2007.

While baseball card blogging is not on par with being a baseball player -- at least not yet...perhaps we should get together and form blogging Dodgeball leagues or something -- I am pleased to say that the voters for the Bip Award Rookie of the Year selected at A Cardboard Problem voted my blog as the Rookie of the Year.

I stole this image from The Starting Nine blog post here
I chalk this win up to the fact that everyone forgot that Bob Walk the Plank -- which turned one year old last week, an event for which Matt is having a great contest -- was a rookie blog as well and forgot to nominate Matt for the award.

I'd have voted for him.

To everyone who voted for me, thank you for your votes and for reading.

To everyone who did not vote for me, well, I hope it's nothing personal!

One more thing: if I have promised you that I would send you cards and I have not done so, please leave me a comment below. I think I know the people that I said I would ship cards, but I never know for sure.

Thanks.

  1. Congrats once again ! and yeah, Matt should've been in the poll for sure and he would've gotten my vote too.
(and I seem to remember a Winfield with my name on it ! )

    1. Thanks for the reminder, Kevin -- I knew I owed you a package, but I had lost track of what, exactly, I should put in it!

  2. Between you, Kevin, Matt, and so many others, a ton of great blogs popped up around the blogosphere in 2014. Congrats on winning the ROY!

  3. I think you were gonna send me the last two '82 Topps cards I needed for my set but no worries!

    1. You are 100% correct about that. I think I looked at my cards that you need and did not think that they would meet the condition in which you would like them to be. But, let me look at them again.
